(This pic was taken the morning after...)
As you can imagine, this past week has been pretty exhausting. Since the accident, Bella has been quite the active one....even the night we came home from the ER, she was back to her old self...runnin...DAMNIT! LOL
It has been a week of Daddy watching, waiting for the next fall...always one step (pun intended) ahead of Bella...hoping...PRAYING...it doesn't happen again. Feeling the guilt for having it happen in the first place. Apologizing over and over, to a kid who really doesn't understand sorry yet...Sigh!
Stitches came out on Tuesday...another trauma drama...but, we got through it...and yup...she said it again, as she hugged the Doc..."That was fun"
SHEEESH!
We have heard from so many of you...so thank you! Bella is fine now...scars are healing nicely...and BellaDadddy appreciates those virtual hugz! I promise to write more soon...this week? Am just too pooped!

you can't blame yourself for her fall. Kids fall, they get hurt, it's just a part of growing up. I was always so banged up and bruised from running around and trying to do stupid human tricks on my bike, if my poor mother had blamed herself for all of that, she'd have been a basket case. Bella will be fine, dear BellaDaddy .. and so will you ;) *snugs!*
Haha that's awesome. I love the resiliency of kids.
Divine Chaos is right; kids fall and there's nothing you can do about it sometimes. This totally wasn't your fault!
Everyone's going to be fine! Hope you get some rest!
you haven't made her a dress out of bubble wrap yet? :)
Aww...breath Daddy, she's going to be fine. One time Kat, when she was 4, had a shelf fall on her head when she was sleeping (I know right? it was weird), anyways, it made a 2.5 inch gash in her head. 3 am in the morning we're at the childrens hospital...fortunately, it was a clean straight cut, they just glued it shut, that was cool LOL. But she freaked when she saw the syringe (no needle)...then calmed down when the doctor pointed out there was no needle.
It's always worse for the parents.
Ugh, now I feel even more guilty for not popping over here more often. I had no idea that poor Bella was so abused! Now I'll have to go read to catch up on everything. =)
I read this when you wrote it, but forgot to comment. I know everyone has told you, but it totally wasn't your fault and there was nothing you could have done about her falling. When you're feeling better about everything remind me to tell you the story about the oldest flipping over the bathtub ledge and how I cried harder than she did. I wore RM (rotten mother) on my chest for weeks.
You know, I think Bella felt better about the whole thing way before you did/will.
Even with her injury, she's still a beautiful little girl.
Now go count your gray hairs :=)
Psst, Bella! This is the time to ask for extra ice cream. Daddy's feeling guilty. It won't last. Ask for a pony too! =)
And I keep being told again and again it's going to happen again and again and we witness every day again and again. Bea's scars are healing too, but mercy me.
Sigh. Kids fall. A lot. Glad Bella is doing okay!
